ELCAP's Inverstors in People Platinum Award

I want to thank all staff for their hard work and contributions to achieving the IIP Platinum Award. This is the highest level of Award within the IIP Framework.  Previously ELCAP was assessed against the Standard Framework but in 2015 IIP reviewed their model of assessment and the new Sixth Generation Framework was launched. ELCAP was one of the first organisations to be assessed under this new Framework.

The review commenced in July 2015 and we were assessed by Kate Flory over a 3 year period. She commented that our vision about living in a society where there are no barriers that prevent people form livining the lives they want to live and reaching their full potential was a sentiment, not only shared by you all but was done with a sense of pride.

The assessment showed that we are clearly a values-led organisation who put the people we support at the heart of all that we do.

Kate was delighted to be congratulationg you all in achieving the highest level of Platinum. This is reiterated by ELCAP's managers and the Board.

A big thank you and well done everyone.

Analysis of ELCAP’S Staff Questionaire– February 2016

What you said:

"I enjoy working for ELCAP. It's a professional and friendly atmosphere. ELCAP are a positive organisation."

"ELCAP are a good company to work for and all management are good at listening if you have anything you want to discuss and help out in situations."

"I am happy in my job and wish to continue."

"Excellent management support."

Results:

Last year we carried out the staff questionnaire at the November 2015 Staff Training Seminars (254 staff completed it).   We asked you for ideas on how to encourage staff to complete the questionnaire.   Completing at the Staff Training Seminars was a popular idea and taking this on board we again produced the staff questionnaire at the February 2016 Staff Training Seminar.   We noted that some staff felt that the idea was good but that it was not anonymous.   This year we asked you to complete the staff questionnaire anonymously. 247 staff out of the full staff group (293) in ELCAP completed the questionnaire this year.   This represents 84% of staff. The results have been very positive and using this medium to capture your views seems to be a good way forward.   You may have felt a bit bombarded by the frequency of the staff questionnaires and this will now return to being issued annually at the February Staff Seminars.

Thank you.
