Most of the people employed by ELCAP work as Support Workers.

Local connections are a valuable resource to the people we work for so we prefer to employ people for support work in the town they live in. As far as possible we also try to recruit staff to a particular team to support a named individual, and to involve that person in the recruitment process.

A Support Worker is expected to work with people in their own home and their own community and to provide support in everyday living, assisting the person they support to become a valued member of their community. The content of the job will be tailored to the needs and preference of the person being supported.
